Joel Embiid has said he may never play in another back-to-back for the Philadelphia 76ers, and he won’t this week. Both Embiid and Paul George will sit out Wednesday’s game with the unbeaten Cleveland Cavaliers (12-0) due to left knee injury management. The Sixers (2-8) are also playing without Tyrese Maxey (hamstring).

Midway through the fourth quarter, with the Knicks leading 89-77, Paul George had possession of the ball and appeared to be gearing up to score. Embiid tried to set a screen for his new teammate, but instead of stopping the Knicks defenders, it was George whom he prevented from doing anything after they crashed to each other.

Joel Embiid is expected to make his season debut Tuesday night for the Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid has not played this season because of what the Sixers called left knee management.
