Over the weekend, the Carolina Panthers and the New York Giants travelled over to Munich, Germany to play an NFL game at Allianz Arena. In an effort to promote the sport overseas, you’ll also see teams play in places like London usually at least once during the season, and American football is actually pretty popular in Europe.

Among the crowds on the historic Marienplatz square were Annika and Robert Peter, from Bonn in western Germany. They’re Chiefs fans who saw the team beat the Dolphins 21-14 in Frankfurt last year, and they’re going to Sunday’s game to experience the NFL atmosphere a second time.

The NFL wraps up its international slate this week when the New York Giants face the Carolina Panthers in Munich, Germany. While this isn't the sexiest matchup for the international calendar, the Giants and Panthers are both at a crossroads in their season.
