TCU now ranks as the 105th best national university, tying with Auburn University, the Illinois Institute of Technology and Saint Louis University. TCU President Daniel W. Pullin said the university pays attention to the rankings, but remains focused on ensuring students get the best outcomes and strongest return on investment possible.

This is the eighth year UCLA has earned the No.1 spot on the U.S. News & World Report's list, where the rankings are based on 17 measures of academic quality.

The University of Central Florida showed better this year both among public universities and all universities nationwide, according to the news sites annual list of top schools.

The university made significant strides, rising to No. 231 in the National Universities category and No. 126 in the Top Public Schools rankings. UNF’s nursing, psychology, and business programs also saw improvements in their rankings.

The University of Florida has seen its ranking over the past couple of months vary depending on the publication and its methodology.
