Rep. Russ Fulcher has a strong lead over Democrat challenger Kaylee Peterson with 71.5 percent of the votes. So far, Kootenai County voters have overwhelmingly voted for Fulcher with 72 percent of the votes. Elsewhere, Rep. Mike Simpson leads Democrat challenger David Roth with 59.2 percent of the votes.

Idaho voters roundly rejected Proposition 1 on Election ... Voters would have picked their preferred candidate, and the top four would have advanced to the general election. In November, voters could have ranked the candidates in each race.

If Prop 1 passes, the measure would make two big changes to the state’s elections. Instead of the closed Republican primary (and separate, but open, Democratic primary), all voters would participate in a single “blanket” primary.
