Police seek expert advice on legal steps after an accident that killed six, including three women, with one person seriously injured.

At least six people died after a car accident in Uttarakhand's Dehradun city when they were returning from a party, media reports said.

The heads of two youngsters were severed from their bodies as the roof of the car broke. Since the MUV’s driver, who owned the vehicle, did not survive, the police is looking into legal alternatives as no charges can be filed posthumously.

The impact was devastating, with the Innova's roof torn off, causing two of the seven students in the MUV to be decapitated.

The accident took place around 1.30 am in Dehradun, where a speeding Innova car crashed into the rear of a container truck, leaving the car in a wrecked state.
