According to the FHP report, the man was driving a Saab sedan north on County Road 234. For unknown reasons the vehicle traveled off the roadway where it struck a utility pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by members of Alachua County Fire Rescue.

One person has died and one seriously injured following an accident on Interstate 4 in Lakeland, The Florida Highway Patrol said.

Officials said the crash occurred after a Kia Soul struck the motorcyclist and another vehicle while they were stopped at an intersection.

The driver, identified as a 74-year-old man, is currently in critical condition. According to the FHP, neither was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. The sedan's driver and passenger didn't suffer any injuries and wore seatbelts, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a motorcycle crash in Gulf County on Sunday. According to a news release, a vehicle was traveling northbound on County Road 5 when it crossed the center line and traveled off the roadway.
