The man lured the girl to an abandoned house in Baghpat, in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, on the weekend, according to Indian media.

In Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, a troop of monkeys reportedly saved a six-year-old girl from a rape attempt. A man lured the child to an abandoned house and tried to assault her before being chased away by the monkeys.

According to girl's parents, the accused had lured their child to an abandoned house on Saturday. He took off her clothes and was attempting to rape when a troop of monkeys came all of a sudden and forced him to leave the minor and flee.

Upon reaching home, the frightened child narrated her ordeal to the parents and informed them how the perpetrator ran away when some angry monkeys came around.

After the incident, the UKG student narrated her ordeal to her parents and told them that the monkeys had "saved" her from the accused
