French President Emmanuel Macron to visit Montreal next week
French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Canada next week after a planned trip in July was cancelled amid political turmoil in France. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in a statement Thursday that Macron will be in Canada Sept. 25 and 26 after the leaders attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

During the visit, Prime Minister Trudeau will welcome President Macron in Ottawa to continue their collaboration on geopolitical issues of shared interest, including the support that Canada and France are providing to Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s war of aggression.
