A Madison County man returning home after working as a Door Dash delivery person in Athens escaped injury recently after his car was shot during a road rage incident that erupted in Colbert. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies arrested the alleged shooter, a 22-year-old Colbert man, shortly after the shooting.

A road rage incident on Roy Messer Highway led to a shooting, leaving one person injured; the area is currently under investigation.

Jerrell W. Harris was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm stemming from the shooting, police said.
