Next tropical system likely to form next week
BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The already much awaited next tropical system is looking more and more likely to form in the Western Caribbean or Southern Gulf of Mexico before next weekend. As of Sunday afternoon, it is also increasingly likely that whatever system which forms will not impact the state of Texas.
Potential tropical system in the Gulf could swing rain bands into South Florida this week
It has been a nice weekend without any heat advisories. The first day of Fall will bring a ton of sunshine and only an isolated storm for inland areas. Many will stay dry.
Forecasters say potential tropical system could enter the gulf next week
Should the system develop, forecasters said a tropical depression could form as the system moves slowly to the north or northwest into the southern Gulf of Mexico through the end of next week. Rodney Wynn, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s Tampa office, said forecasting models don’t have a good grip on the system yet.
