Jun 4, 2024 · The issue is that Ubisoft is not available there (nor is Epic Games on the Ubisoft Account side), making it impossible for users to manually unlink those specific accounts once the process has been done at least once (and linking can only be achieved when you try to open a Ubisoft game from the Epic Games launcher).

Add to this Ubisoft decision to remove certain games from all stores except Epic Store and Uplay and their decision to move towards direct account activation of their games bought on 3rd party stores, things are not looking good for cheap Ubisoft games in the future.

Edit edit: The Steam version is also listed as inactive within Uplay, so I suppose we'll know very soon whether Ubi has asked Valve to remove it from user libraries ...

Accepting the dialog allows the game to run, but it has an ominous "Trial Version" watermark in the bottom-left:
